Master Control Operator
Position Summary:
The Master Control Operator is responsible to keep the station on-air through our automation software. The Master Control Operator becomes the last quality control checkpoint prior to any material, program or show going on air. The Master Control Operator must communicate effectively with producer, traffic, programming, and engineering departments to ensure all programs, paid spots go on air accordingly.
Responsibilities:
- Must complete a Dub list to make sure all paid material was received correctly before it goes on air.
- Must process and build an all-day playlist for the following day.
- Check and review quality control (audio/video) of all material (spots, promos, and prerecorded shows) prior to airing.
- Must monitor the screens and check daily playlist to ensure all shows, promos and paid spots air properly as programmed.
- Ensure paid commercials air as scheduled.
- Communicate with control room to give countdown for live shows.
- Inform of any changes or discrepancies that can affect paid material.
- Make a purge list when necessary.
Requirements:
- High school graduate.
- Crispin Automation System, XDCAM and basic video editing knowledge is a plus.
- Must possess exceptional communication skills.
- Must have basic knowledge of MS office, word, and windows environment.
- Must be able to act independently and make reasonable and cognitive decisions in the event of system failure and must be able to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
- Ability to multi-task and be detail oriented.
- Must be self-motivated, make quick decisions and work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
- Must have regular and predictable attendance and punctuality.
- Bilingual is a plus.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be willing to work in Dallas, TX.
- Must be able to lift equipment up to 50+ pounds.
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends and/or Holidays.
- Must be willing to undergo a pre-employment background investigation.
- Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, long hours, holidays, weekends, and overtime as required.
