ESTRELLATV’S NOTICIERO CIERRE DE EDICIÓN LAUNCHES ‘CONTRA LA GRAN MENTIRA’ NIGHTLY NEWS SEGMENTS EXPOSING LIES ABOUT CURRENT IMMIGRATION WAVE

OCTOBER 26, 2023 – LOS ANGELES, CA – EstrellaTV, the award-winning Spanish language broadcast network of multiplatform media company Estrella Media, will begin a new immigration segment starting Monday October 30 on its nightly news program Noticiero Cierre de Edición. Led by news anchor Jose Armando Ronstadt, and featuring reports from the EstrellaTV news team and special contributor Rolando Nichols, “Contra La Gran Mentira” will expose the lies behind the anti- immigrant narrative driven by the current situation at the Southern border.

“This nightly segment is about exposing ‘La Gran Mentira’ of immigration,” said Enrique Guillen, Chief Content Officer, Estrella Media. “The lie is that there is an invasion of migrants coming through an open border with Mexico, bringing drugs and criminals. The EstrellaTV news team will focus on the true cause of the situation at the border, which is the lack of a common-sense immigration system that aligns the demand for jobs and migrants in the U.S. and fulfills the country’s promise as the land of opportunity.”

Under the direction of EstrellaTV’s Co-News Directors, Roberto Ticona and William Leguizamón, the series will inform and empower EstrellaTV viewers with a plethora of live content, contextual segments, and editorials on how the current immigration and migrant crisis affects them. The hard-hitting segments will report on the current situation at the border and in cities across the country, investigate the sources behind the anti-immigrant narrative and the impact on the Hispanic community at large, and cover the history of immigration in the U.S.

The segments will be part of a longform special in December. Cierre de Edición can be seen on EstrellaTV, the EstrellaTV and Estrella News FAST channels, and on the EstrellaTV app.
