Biography
Arya Towfighi is EVP, General Counsel for Estrella Media, Inc. In this capacity, he serves as the chief legal officer for the company and its subsidiaries and is responsible for all aspects of the company’s legal affairs around the country. His role also includes oversight of the Business Affairs, Human Resources, Talent Relations, and Communications functions of Estrella Media.
Towfighi is a strategic advisor to all business units across the company, and he manages and oversees all legal aspects of the company’s general corporate matters, business affairs, litigation and dispute resolution, risk management, employment and labor relations, corporate governance and board matters, privacy and cyber security, intellectual property matters, corporate and finance transactions, and compliance, including regulatory compliance and adherence to FCC reporting obligations.
Towfighi joined Estrella Media in November 2019. He is a leading and accomplished attorney with over 25 years of experience primarily in the entertainment industry as outside counsel at large international law firms and in-house counsel at large public and private corporations. Towfighi spent over 13 years at Univision Communications Inc. where he served as SVP and Associate General Counsel, and prior to that he represented entertainment industry clients at the Los Angeles offices of McDermott, Will & Emery, and Loeb & Loeb.
Towfighi obtained his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania and his Juris Doctor Cum Laude from Pepperdine University School of Law. He was awarded The Corporate Counsel of the Year Award by the Los Angeles Business Journal in 2013.
